Abstract

Methane reforming to hydrogen production is considered as a  top priority for future sustainable energy. Over conventional  catalytic reforming, atmospheric pressure non-thermal  plasma reforming possesses advantages of feeding  flexibility, sulfur tolerance, durability, and fast response.  The main drawback of plasma reforming is high energy cost,  which results from its monotonic dependence on specific  energy input (SEI). To lower the energy cost and increase  syngas concentration, an innovative spark-shade plasma  reactor was designed, which features extremely enlarged  reaction zone arising from rotating spark channels, relative to  the narrow channel of conventional spark plasma. In this  presentation, methane reforming with added O2 in the spark- shade plasma reactor and the effects of the key parameters  were reported. The kinetics of dry reforming of methane in a  spark-discharge plasma was studied.

Plasma technologies have been extensively employed on  synthesis of TiO2 photocatalysts due to their fast and facile  synthesis processes with abundant availability of Ti  precursors and oxidants. Photocatalytic TiO2 films by  atmospheric pressure plasma chemical vapor deposition  (CVD) were reviewed. In our pioneering work, one-step,  fast and facile synthesis of full crystalline TiO2 photocatalysts  was achieved by gliding arc plasma.
